Position Overview
The Health Care Aide will play a vital role in supporting clients with daily activities and medical needs. This position is open for both full-time and part-time employment, offering flexibility to accommodate various scheduling needs. The successful candidate will provide personal care, medication reminders, and assist with light housekeeping while ensuring the emotional and social well-being of clients.
This role will require accurate monitoring of clients' health and maintaining meticulous records, in addition to coordinating care and staying up-to-date with training requirements. Strong communication skills and a passion for client well-being are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing and SAIL exercises.
- Provide medication reminders and assist in picking up medications when requested.
- Maintain accurate client records and advocate for clients while managing case coordination.
- Monitor clients' health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Offer emotional support through wellness visits and assist with community social events.
- Facilitate transportation for clients to local medical appointments and support drivers for out-of-town trips.
- Assist with booking specialized health care services, including foot care and eye clinics.
- Provide light housekeeping support when clients are under medical care.
- Establish linkages with other resources and agencies as needed.
- Perform any other duties as requested by supervisors.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual who meets the following qualifications:
- Completion of Health Care Aide Training or Certification in a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient technology skills for record-keeping and communication.
- Possession of a valid BC Driver’s License.
- Current First Aid Certificate with CPR certification.
